My feet measure as right in between a size 8.5 and 9, medium width with a wider toe box, so I usually size up and wear a 9 in Stegmann sandals. In the Clara I think I'd actually prefer an 8 because there was a enough length in the footbed - but I do have short toes so your mileage may vary.
This sandal is very comfortable , supportive and totally adjustable so I was able to wear both sizes, but I preferred the smaller fit of the 8. This sandal would probably work well for a higher volume foot than mine because of the adjustable fit options, but I don't think i'd recommend it for narrow feet as it does offer a bit more volume over all.
I had to synch the back strap up a full inch on these size 8s, which is too much. So I ordered a size 7 for comparison & they fit just right.
The shoes are so comfortable and work with any outfit. I find myself wanting to wear the everyday. The quality of the shoes is exceptional and I know they will last for a very long time.
