Disappointed

I really don't like posting negative feedback, so have been trying my best over the past few months to use these as often as possible hoping that my experience would improve, but I feel like I've given these enough time to win me over and they just haven't.

I bought these looking for an alternative to Crocs that I would be comfortable wearing outside the home. I really like clogs, but these days I feel like I'm both too old and too young to pull off wearing my Crocs in public. These seemed to fit the bill very well, and I was impressed with the number of positive reviews I read about the comfort and quality Stegmanns offer.

However, I've personally found them to be pretty uncomfortable; they're clearly made of quality materials, but because of that they're heavier than other clogs I've tried, and so I find them sliding around my foot a lot more than I'd like. I also found that while the footbed does try to mold to your foot over time, there's a limit to how much it will, and maybe it's just me and my feet but I've found that the comfort on the sole of my foot hasn't improved substantially over time. My last big gripe is that they scuff incredibly easily; mine actually arrived scuffed which I was kinda bummed about, but I've learned that the reason why is that they're very very difficult not to scuff even in light every day usage. I feel I've been relatively light on them and have mostly worn them to walk the dog around the block, do a grocery run, go to church or the theater, etc. but they still have ended up with a lot more scratches and scuffs than my other leather shoes for the same wear.

Based on my experience, I just can't recommend these as much as I wish I could; I wanted to love these, but they just don't fit my needs in terms of comfort or function, and unfortunately they're now collecting dust on the shoe rack and likely destined for donation, while I now grab a trusty pair of Crocs and just try to rock them as best I can outdoors. Truthfully, I would have returned these, but just wearing them around my house the first few days I was able to scuff the leather and put noticeable wear on the heel on the sole, so I figured I wouldn't be able to return them and saw it as an opportunity to give them the college try.

My recommendation for folks looking at purchasing a pair of these would be to try them on in person at a store if at all possible, and if you end up going home with a pair, make sure to wear them around the house as much as possible first to make darn sure they're keepers. Otherwise, Crocs has a huge selection these days, and I've honestly found them to be more comfortable, versatile, and durable (plus [understandably] way cheaper), so make sure there's not a pair of them that could better fit your needs. I appreciate the look and quality of Stegmanns, but in my experience, that quality construction doesn't translate into a more comfortable fit than its plastic competitors.

These clogs look great and feel great. The oiled leather will be easy to care for. Very comfortable.
